As international business development manager Data you will play a central role within the company, and many divisions will depend on you. Your main responsibilities will include:
Floating car data (FCD)
Pro-active international search of providers of raw GPS data, which form the basis of our “floating car data” platform. These providers typically include fleet management companies, providers of mobility apps (e.g. navigation, speed trap apps …), car manufacturers, mobile operators …
Negotiate and renegotiate contracts with these providers, including variable pricing and cost optimization, geographical coverage, barter deals in return for our traffic information
Develop an international roll-out plan, including a budget, for increasing and optimizing our FCD coverage and quality in Europe and possibly other continents
Monitor the quality of the incoming GPS data per provider, as this will have a direct impact on the quality of the produced traffic information, including the creation and implementation of policies for quality monitoring (e.g. feedback to the providers when the feed is down or corrupt)
Monitor the produced final traffic information, based on the processing of raw data from different providers, and the creation and implementation of policies for quality monitoring (such as permanent and monthly reports with indicators on coverage, quality, number of probes …)
Provide feedback to our traffic lab team and our software FCD team on how to further improve the quality of our FCD data, including new features and updates.
Road operator C-ITS data
Pro-active international search of providers of C-ITS data (such as variable message signs, traffic lights, emergency vehicles, roadworks, parking information, …) which form the basis of our “C-ITS” platform. These providers typically include national and local road authorities and municipalities
Negotiate contracts with these providers, including variable pricing and cost optimization
Develop an international C-ITS roll-out plan, including, a budget for increasing and optimizing our C-ITS coverage and quality in Europe
Produce monthly quality reports on the number of C-ITS events and providers per country
Provide feedback to our traffic lab team and our software C-ITS team on how to further improve the quality of our FCD data, including new features and updates
Functional management of the Be-Mobile traffic operators:
Be-Mobile has a team of 5 FTE “traffic operators” in Brussels who are responsible today
to manually enter traffic information on accidents, incidents, roadworks, speed traps …
to make traffic bulletins for radio stations (in Belgium)
You are also responsible for the quality of the data this team is producing, including the definition of new features for the tools (“Traffic editor”) they use.
The must-haves we are looking for are:
First experience in international business development and deal negotiation
Technological curiosity, you are eager to learn and understand our state-of-the art connected car platform
First experience or school knowledge in data analytics, development and implementation of quality procedures for data
Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
